Vineyard Update March 2024

We have been busy in the vineyard winter pruning, if you would like to read more about what’s involved check out our previous post ‘Winter pruning- the devil is in the detail!’

Its a tough job and Matt the vineyard manager has been carefully pruning since the end of November!! It takes a long time to complete as we prune each of our 15,000 vines by hand. We are currently around 80% of the way through and expect to be finished very soon. Looking forward to March and April as the weather warms up and sap begins to flow we will begin to secure the vines to the trellis to create the foundation of the vine shape as it begins its growing journey for the new year… more on that next month!

We have been really busy planning events, find us over Easter Weekend at the Folkestone Harbour Market under the umbrella of produced in Kent. We will make periodical appearances here so keep an eye out! We also have for the first time ever an event on Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st April that will include transportation to and from the vineyard, if you haven’t already read about it go to out events page for more info. We truly can’t wait and are excited for the plans ahead of us this year. We look forward to welcoming you all and sharing new wine creations with you this spring, again, more on that in the next blog!!!
