What are the Wine GB awards, and why do they matter?

2020 has been a challenging year for everyone, and one of the biggest challenges was making sure events like the wine GB awards could take place safely for everyone! In current times, spreading the message about how fantastic English wines can be has never been more important.

The dawn of a new wine region does not happen very often, and we are so excited to be a part of it. There’s a true spirit of innovation in the UK wine industry and that makes each year’s awards so exciting. The 2020 wine GB awards was judged by broadcaster and author Oz Clarke, Susie Barrie MW, and wine buyer at Corney & Barrow Rebecca Palmer.

“A silver medal means the wine is fabulously good, one that we would long to have a second and a third glass of!” – Oz Clarke

We are so proud to be awarded silver medals for all three of our debut wines, it’s a real achievement for our first vintages and a testament to the hard work, dedication and expertise care we put in year round. We’d like to say a huge thank you to wine GB from the Wayfarer team for making the awards happen in unprecedented circumstances.
